The School Liaison is committed to outreach, advocacy, and partnership initiatives that generate real-time solutions for military connected students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 as they face global educational challenges and transitions.

About

The Nellis School Liaison Program Manager (SLPM) provides information, support, and resources for military-connected students and their families on public, charter, private, virtual, and homeschooling options. The SLPM also offers assistance, resources, and
information for educators supporting military-connected students and keeps base command teams fully informed on all issues affecting PreK-12 education in the local community.

The information below will address many of the general questions families have when relocating to the Las Vegas area. However, if you need additional information or have concerns, please contact the Nellis AFB School Liaison, Kristina Aubert, for individualized support and assistance

School Options in Nevada

In Nevada, families can choose from traditional zoned public schools,
public charter schools, public magnet schools, private schools, online learning, and homeschooling.

Public Schools

The Clark County School District (CCSD) is the fifth-largest school district in the United States, serving 296,000 students across Las Vegas and the surrounding areas. There are 374 district-operated schools in Clark County. CCSD offers a variety of choice options in career and technical education, performing arts, STEM, STEAM, leadership, online education, and International Baccalaureate (along with Change of School Assignment options). There are 36 magnet schools with 100+ programs of study.

Students living on the base are zoned for:

  • Lowman Elementary (houses/TLF rooms ending in an even number)
  • Manch Elementary (houses/TLF rooms ending in an odd number)
  • Findlay Middle School
  • Mojave High School

*Coral Academy of Science Nellis Campus is located on the installation. This is a publicly funded charter school and is a school choice option for students. The school operates on an application and lottery with priority for active duty residing on the installation.
